FBI: iPhone kann gehackt werden

FBI gegen Apple: Die für heute (22.3) angesetzte Anhörung wurde auf Wunsch des Department of Justice verschoben. Das FBI will das Terroristen-Telefon nun selbst knacken, so die New York Times. Jemand habe dem FBI eine Möglichkeit aufgezeigt, das fragliche iPhone vom Tatort in San Bernardino ohne die Hilfe von Apple zu entsperren. Am 5. April 2015 soll dem zuständigen Gericht ein weiterführender Bericht vorgelegt werden.

Gestern bekräftige Tim Cook seinen Standpunkt und den Standpunkt von Apple:

We did not expect to be in this position at odds with our own government. But we believe strongly we have a responsibility to help you protect your data and protect you privacy. We owe it to our customers, and we owe it to our country. This is an issue that impacts all of us, and we will not shrink from this responsibility. [ Tim Cook ]

Zuvor erneuerte er den Diskussionsbedarf:

We need to decide as a nation how much power the government should have over our data and our privacy. [ Tim Cook ]

Für mich sieht es so aus, als ob Apple den Showdown in der Beweisaufnahme gewonnen hätte und das deshalb das FBI einen Rückzieher macht, um sich nicht zu blamieren. Sollte es jedoch möglich sein, das iPhone zu knacken, dann wäre Apple bloßgestellt. Ausgestanden ist die Sache damit noch lange nicht. [ Bild: Apple ]
