Today, Apple is proud to report a remarkable, record-breaking quarter, with revenue of $143.8 billion, up 16 percent from a year ago and well above our expectations. iPhone had its best-ever quarter driven by unprecedented demand, with all-time records across every geographic segment, and Services also achieved an all-time revenue record, up 14 percent from a year ago. We are also excited to announce that our installed base now has more than 2.5 billion active devices, which is a testament to incredible customer satisfaction for the very best products and services in the world.

iPhone (+ 23 Prozent), Service (+ 14 Prozent) und iPad (+ 6 Prozent) sorgen für ein Apple-Rekordquartal. Der Mac-Markt schwächelt (- 7 Prozent) und Wearables sowie Gadgets (- 2 Prozent) sind neutral. Apple verkauft mehr Musik- und TV-Streams, iCloud-Speicher und Produkt-Versicherungen als Macs, iPads und Apple Watch und EarPods zusammen. Alle Regionen sind im Plus. In Asien (+20), Japan (+21) und China (-23) sowie Europa (+25) wächst Apple stark. Einzig In den USA stockt der Wachstum bei 16 Prozent im Plus, was an der eratischen Politik von Donald Trump liegt.
Pro Aktie zahlt Apple eine Dividende von 0,26 US-Dollar aus. Stichtag ist der 9. Februar. Ausgezahlt wird am 12. November. Der Gewinn liegt fast einen Dollar höher bei 2,84 US-Dollar pro Aktie.

Der Berichtszeitraum endete am 27. Dezember und ist das erste Quartal im neuen Geschäftsjahr bei Apple. Für das kommende Quartal verweist Tim Cook auf eine loyale Basis von 2,5 Milliarden aktiven Geräten. Kevan Parekh fühlt sich jedoch einzig den Aktionären gegenüber verantwortlich. Durch Aktionrückkäufe steigt der Gewinn pro Aktie – kann man machen.
